Boards.ie

Is it possible to imagine a bigger shower of assholes than the moderators on the politics forum on boards.ie.

Just look at the last page of this thread:
http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055072543&page=4

I don’t think any comment is needed.

It seems to me that boards.ie is a perfect example both of Lord Acton’s famous quote about power, and a perfect vindication of the results of the infamous Stanford Prison Experiment of the 1970s.

I’m LouiseIV by the way. I got bored yesterday so I decided I’d spend a while in the company of some old friends. I thought if I used a girl’s name there would be less chance of arousing suspicion. As nearly everyone on that site who doesn’t echo the PC line on immigration is invariably accused of being a stormfronter, and as there are very few female stormfronters, I thought it might give me some leverage if things didn’t get so pretty.

‘I’m afraid I don’t know much about statistics or immigration, but I do so love kittens. They’re so warm and fluffy.’

I think I’ll just jump back in and have some more fun with the guys now.

Immigration by the numbers

I was surprised to see that one of the most popular videos on Google Video is a video of a man giving a less than positive presentation of immigration into US.

The most important point made by Roy Beck and the one that the liberals never seem to understand:

The problem is not the immigrants, the problem is the NUMBER of immigrants. The current rate of immigration into the US and other developed countries is unprecedented, unplanned for and beyond our ability to manage effectively. Unless we seriously restrict the numbers of people coming to our countries, we can expect to see a major deterioration
in our quality of life within the next few decades.

I don’t know what these Americans are whinging about though. Aren’t they aware that they have only a quarter of the number of immigrants per head of population that the republic of Ireland is getting?

Read about half way down

“On a per-capita basis, it’s more than four times the immigration rate of the U.S. And the official data underestimate the true scale of immigration.”

The figure of 3.9 million is out of date. The current population of the ROI is 4.2 million, but the increase in immigration has more than kept pace with the overall population growth. The official immigration figures released last year, covering the previous twelve months, gave a figure of around 80,000, much higher than the year before, and much higher than the year before that as well. This year’s numbers is expected to be higher still, particularly with the thousands of Romanians coming here since the start of the year.
