Irish National Party

I don’t know what kind of outfit that Irish National Party is but they at least deserve respect for their tolerant approach to their bulletin boards. They have practically no moderation on the site which means that it’s probably the only Irish discussion forum where genuine free-speech is both valued and practiced without being abused in the way that boards.ie clergy would expect.

There is one racist on the site but no-one takes him seriously. The general tone is very civil and polite - the contrast with boards.ie couldn’t be greater. On that site, there’s a self-appointed (yes, if you want to be a moderator you must be appointed by another moderator - a real old boys club) elite of abusive, foul-mouthed moderators who seem more than happy to show the dangers of democracy and free speech. They claim to be preventing people being abusive towards each other but it’s a bit hypocritical considering that the moderators seem to be the most abusive people on that site.

I’ve been posting on the INP site for the last few weeks but there’s been a slow-down lately due to the fact that the pro-immigration side ran away once it was obvious that they couldn’t hold up in their end of a debate. As this thread shows, they like to put the anti-immigration people on the spot, but they don’t seem to like being put on the spot themselves.

YouTube

I’ve become a member of YouTube and I’m thinking of uploading some videos to the site. I’ve uploadd one video so far. As with this blog I can see my updates being both very irregular and very unprofessional.

Quotes from the fringe

Immigration is now not merely the dominant feature of Irish life, it is the greatest threat to the existence of the Irish nation as a coherent, and cohesive whole.
